List of speakers revealed ahead of Career Zoo’s 2015 show

19 Feb 2015

Professional networking event Career Zoo has named its speaker series and Tech Box talks lineup for the 21 February show in Dublin.

A focus on Fintech, given the swathe of multinational employers based in Ireland, will see significant talks on the area of MBAs and the rise of the industry as a whole.

“This 9th edition of Career Zoo looks set to be our biggest yet with even more new features,” explains Brian Ó hOisín, director of the event.

“We are introducing the ‘International Financial District’ zone, highlighting a host of exciting positions across Ireland’s financial sector, both traditional roles and new tech roles that the digital revolution is creating.

“Bank of Ireland are sponsoring this zone where they have announced that they will make at least ten direct hires on the day as part of wider opportunities available within the group.”

Various topics

Career Zoo’s speaker series will feature talks across various topics including ‘The Rise of Fintech’ with Bank of Ireland, Liberty IT, Accenture and IFDS, as well as ‘When is an MBA the right step for you and what it means for your career’ with Trinity School of Business and Accenture. There are also talks from Workday, Bank of Ireland, Liberty IT, Trinity School of Business, Accenture, State Street, JP Morgan and System Dynamics.

“Bank of Ireland is delighted to be involved in this year’s Career Zoo at the National Convention Centre,” says Julie Sharp, head of HR at Bank of Ireland Group. “New for 2015 is a dedicated international financial services area (including Fintech) which Bank of Ireland are delighted to sponsor.

“We have a multi-platform offering available to our customers and we need talented people in all areas including those not typically associated with banking, for example digital innovation and data analytics. We are asking Ireland’s brightest and best to come and talk to us at Careers Zoo and become part of an exciting future in financial services.”

Elsewhere Tech Box will host tech-related talks, as well as discussions from Workday, Liberty IT, Bank of Ireland, Accenture, Bentley Systems, Bloomberg Polarlake, Nitro, System Dynamics, Ericsson, Version 1 and Terminalfour.

Well learned

“We are delighted to be the education sponsor for the 2015 Career Zoo event, following the success of last year,” says Professor Jim Quinn of Trinity Business School.

“Our commitment to our graduate students and MBA classes is to continue to provide one of the best postgraduate experiences in the world. We believe that small class sizes, research-led teaching, and specialist technical modules means Trinity Business School can offer a truly differentiated, valuable degree.”

Tech Town and BioCluster will offer job seekers thousands of career opportunities in a host of Ireland’s leading indigenous and multinational companies who are operating in the some of the country’s most successful sectors.
